I shall add my feeble musings to the already deafening chorus of sewing bloggers. They're a tough act to follow and I certainly have no pretty photography skills to illustrate with, but I hope you'll find something useful here.
I've been sewing since my mum helped me to make my first prom dress in 1999, it cost me £30. I have a pretty basic Janome sewing machine and a Babylock overlocker. I also love my iron even though it leaks. I always need to tidy my sewing room, and I still haven't finished that quilt; my husband was totally right when he said I wouldn't do it within 2 years. I keep a supply of plasters next to the sewing machine, and my hoover eats my dressmaking pins.
When I'm not sewing or knitting, I'm looking after my little boy and his Daddy (who would like a boat please, Santa). When I do a real job, I'm a physicist. Hand me the spanners.
What I intend to share here are:
- Pattern, book and tool reviews
- Tips and tutorials
- Updates on my quest to learn children's wear flat pattern drafting
- What's on my sewing table
- Some free patterns
